Air cadet League of Canada Awards 2019 (PEI recipients)

Cletus Dunn: As a sponsoring committee member and Air cadet league volunteer for many years, Cletus Dunn has been influential in ensuring that the program is well- rounded, and that cadets have many opportunities to participate in provincial and national effective speaking competitions – with considerable success!  Through his continuing efforts, cadets have not only learned of the benefits of volunteering, but also of their opportunities to contribute strongly to their community.

CI Shannon Richards: Tireless efforts towards 53 Squadron since 2008, she has and does, put in countless hours with supply, as a band coach, with effective speaking, canteen, admin, writing letters of recommendation, ensuring that cadets apply for education bursaries and scholarships, which attest to her superior performance.  For that and her demonstrated service spirit, enthusiasm and personal conduct, the ACL of Canada awards CI Shannon Richards its Certificate of Recognition.

Capt Marc Doucette: This Certificate of Merit is awarded to March Doucette in recognition of meritorious service, both as a former Commanding Officer of 741 West Prince Squadron, and now as a volunteer.  His personal skill and knowledge of the cadet program have enabled him to perform well in all areas of the squadron, but especially in the mentoring and training of staff.  He continues to dedicate much of his spare time to the AC program to ensure that all cadets have every available opportunity to succeed.

Lt(N) Scott Richards: This officer has served in all three elements.  His is a past CO of 323 Sqn, Now DCO of 53 Squadron, he has elevated the squadrons’ performance to national levels with excellence in biathlon and marksmanship.  The ACL of Canada withes to acknowledge his contribution and success by awarding him its Certificate of Recognition. 

May 2019: Sgt. Blue received her cadet long service medal. With her dad who is a Sponsoring Committee Member for over 25 years. She is also the niece of Col. Blue.

Past National President and Past ACL PEI President and longtime volunteer Guy Albert received the The Air Cadet League of Canada Medal of Honor in May 2019.  The Medal of Honor is the highest Award that can be granted to a League Member. READ MORE>> on the Medal of Honor.  As an educator, officer and volunteer with more than 50 years of effective leadership and dedicated service at local, provincial and national levels of the Canadian Cadet Movement, the Air cadet League of Canada wishes to acknowledge and recognize the exceptional contribution, which continues to this day.
