The PEI Provincial Air Cadet League was held April 30, 2022. This year it was hosted virtually by 641 West Prince Squadron under Commanding Officer Captain Sarah Handrahan, and included six competitors representing Summerside’s 53 C.E. Monty DFC, Charlottetown’s 60 Confederation and West Prince’s 641 squadrons.

This year’s medalists include gold medalist Sergeant Nathaniel Stuit (60 Squadron), silver medalist Flight Sergeant Daisy Kinch (641 Squadron), and bronze medalist Cadet Grace Ren (60 Squadron). Stuit, after successfully defending his 2021 provincial title, will again represent Prince Edward Island at the national effective speaking competition on June 4, 2022. This year’s national competition is being held virtually owing to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic.

The competition is run by volunteers led by provincial effective speaking chair Gail Lecky, this year Co-chaired with Kendra Mellish, (Provincial Chair) and cash prizes were sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Charlottetown. The Provincial Air Cadet League wishes to thank and acknowledge this support as well as the volunteers who made the event a success: emcee Alex Trail; judges Lt(N) Sandra McKay (Zone Training Officer NB/PEI), Rose Bernard, and Darren McKinnon; and timer Tina Richard.
