Gliders, sailplanes, they are wonderful flying machines. It\u2019s the closest you can come to being a bird.\u00a0<\/em>Neil Armstrong<\/p>\n

If the exhilaration and excitement of flying and gliding have been captured any better than by these pioneers of flight, then we haven\u2019t read it!When you hear those of us involved in the organization of having to ensure we put the \u2018air\u2019 in Air Cadet, this is what we mean \u2013 gliding and power flying.\u00a0 It\u2019s what makes us distinct and draws thousands of young people to experience flight, often for the first time and sometimes as their start to a lifelong journey.And more than just helping you\u00a0\u2018experience\u2019<\/em>\u00a0flight, we go one step further \u2013\u00a0we put you in the driver\u2019s seat!<\/em>\u00a0 Now\u00a0that\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0an experience you will never forget and it may just be your ticket to a lifetime hobby, a business or a full career in the aviation world.<\/p>\n

Below are some details of the two main areas of flying that you can experience in the Air Cadets \u2013 gliding and power!<\/p>\n

Our flying programs are all voluntary, we might add\u2026but we\u2019re pretty sure you will want to get your own\u00a0\u2018taste of flight\u2019<\/em>\u00a0and truly see those trees below as you soar amongst the clouds!<\/p>\n

Debert Cadet Flying Training Centre<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The\u00a0Debert Cadet Flying Training Centre<\/a>, in Debert, N.S., is one of four CadetTraining Centres in Atlantic Canada. Cadets from across Canada are at the school this summer learning how to fly gliders. The school also has satellite locations in Moncton, N.B., and Gander, N.L., where cadets from across the region are learning how to fly single-engine aircraft this summer. Through participation in the Cadet Program, young people develop valuable life skills in teamwork, citizenship, leadership and physical fitness while having fun and meeting new friends.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
